Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the biologically active fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4–10). It was originally developed in Russia and has been investigated for its effects on cognitive function, neuroprotection, and neuronal signaling.
